Monthly Events at UMMEED

- Ms. Salony Priya, Founder Director of Ummeed Counselling and Consulting Services, conducted parenting sessions on “Positive parenting for younger ones” for pre-primary and junior school children at Adamas International School on 13th & 14th March, 2019 to orient parents towards the kind of relationship they need to build with their children. To empower parents to encourage their children and appreciate them despite their differences from the socially accepted norm and to enable parents to be consistent in their parenting styles. Nurture, Balance, Love & Logic were also explained to parents to understand their changing roles with millennial.

On 25th February,2019 A day of immense learning, sharing, introspection with Seva Kendra Calcutta Community mobilizers and NGO workers. Umeed Foundation Gender Sensitivity module highly appreciated, as it enables the grass root level functionaries to overcome many Gender stereotypes and to empower themselves with strategies to move towards Gender equality.

Stephen Gonsalves, Senior Consultant and Programme manager of Seva Kendra Calcutta, Ms.Mumtaz Parveen, Field Coordinator of SAMBANDH project, Ms.Mantu Roy, Programme Manager, SAMBANDH Project all appreciated the training for being very practical, giving a wide world view and based on experience.

Students of class 11 at Birla Bharati School attended an interactive session with Salony Priya on 6th February, 2019. Students were enlightened on Strategies of Dealing with Internet Addiction and Learning Cyber safety to be more responsible Netizens.

National Youth Day Tata Steel CSR at Joda mines Government school students from 30 villages came together for life skill workshop by Ummeed. Group presentation on handling common adolescents’ dilemma, prevention of addiction, building emotional skills on 13th January, 2019.

Kerala Samajam Model School, Jamshedpur with Ummeed sensitized all teaching staff on Child Rights and helped all educators to see their role in child safety and prevention of Child Abuse. The session helped teachers to understand physical and emotional safety of students at school and creating a safety network to prevent child abuse and Child Rights (as per POCSO guidelines). The session was conducted by Mrs. Salony Priya, Founder Director of Ummeed Counselling and Consulting Services.

"New Year - New beginnings... Ummeed's intensive Basic Counselling Skills Certification course is a year long journey undertaken by Pastoral Guides who commit themselves to provide greater emotional support to children and adolescents in their care. The training culminated into this beautiful felicitation ceremony wherein each pastoral guide was certified. This diverse group of educators, coordinators of schools, psychology students, social workers and concerned parents, are now more confident in their empathetic approach.

The ceremony was made even more meaningful with the presence of our guests of honour who extended their whole hearted support and inspiring words by Mr. K.C. On 22nd & 23rd December, 2018, Ummeed conducted two days Basic Counselling training for the teachers at St. Vincent Convent Sr. Secondary School. Teachers were motivated and developed understanding Emotions, Adolescent behavior and counselling techniques and skills, that empowers educators to be guidance counselors at schools.
The session was conducted by Ms. Salony Priya, Founder and Director of Ummeed Counselling & Consulting Services.

Ummeed conducted a Parenting session on "Positive parenting for younger ones" for the parents for junior and middle school children at Tamralipta Public School on 20th December, 2018 by Ms. Salony Priya, the Founder and Director of Ummeed.

On 20th December, 2018 Ummeed conducted an interactive session with Educators at Tamralipta Public School to introduce proactive dealing with students and to empower the educators to lead progressive classrooms as well as emotional empathetic care for children. The session was conducted by Ms. Salony Priya, Founder Director of Ummeed Counselling and Consulting Services.

On 14th & 15th December, 2018, Ummeed conducted a two days interactive session for the hostel staffs and teachers at BETS, Pilani.
Care givers and teachers were motivated, developed understanding of adolescent behaviors, identifying anger triggers, prevention of Bullying and were sensitized on the topic of Self Harm and discussed strategies and interventions to deal with students.
A very comprehensive two days interaction on Stages and Processes of Counselling along with Identifying and Understanding the Protective and Warning Signs of Self Harm.
