Two days Basic Counselling skills Training on 10th and 11th November, 2016 at Sunbeam Group of Schools, Lehatra, Varanasi.

• Day 1 - Session on gender and sexuality among adolescence for the teachers and principals of the Sunbeam Group of Schools.
• Day 2 - The session highlighted the various aspects of suicide. A session conduct by Ms. Salony Priya, Director of Ummeed.

The Caregivers Training programme held in Sunbeam Lahartara, Varanasi on the 1st of October

The Caregivers Training programme held in Sunbeam Lahartara, Varanasi on the 1st of October was very well received by caregivers of all 4 branches.

The session helped burst myths about discipline and helped caregivers get acquainted with positive disciplining strategies.

The use of positive self affirmations was also emphasized.

Basic Counselling Skills Session helped debunk several myths of counselling.

The pastoral guides practiced thorough role plays to help them develop skills of active listening, building empathy and effective communication.
They were also oriented about styles of parenting which they would be able to bring to good use when interacting with parents.
Assertiveness skills taught to them could help build effective communication with children and adolescents.

No corporal punishment required for behavioural change. An interactive and unique initiative by Ummeed to foster a healthy discussion on CHILD RIGHTS – ABUSE & AGGRESSION.
