Counselling Services to Higher Educational Institutions

Ummeed has a team of counsellors that provide services at different educational set ups.

They provide services on a regular basis where they cater to students with special needs as well as those students with academic and behavioural issues.

During their school visits, the counsellors meet children on a one-to-one basis and also conduct Life Skill sessions in groups on various topics addressing common school issues.

The Bhawanipore Education Society College invited Ummeed Counselling services headed by Mrs Salony Priya for a pioneer project to create a strength based analysis of the new students joining first year under various graduation programmes, through skill mapping & self awareness.
Students underwent individual counselling sessions to understand their own psychological competencies which would enable the college to provide best of value add on activities beyond academic, build skills, provide counselling & allow several trainings that are need based. A month long very comprehensive student centric activity.

Empowering students of Bhawanipore Education Society College on "Emotional Intelligence and Positive Psychology Interventions" on 16th September, 2017 by Ms. Salony Priya & Ummeed Team. "It was motivating, helpful, interactive and we should be needing more such workshops to be conducted to overcome our difficulty" - Sagnik Chatterjee (1st Year, English Hons)

Spriha Patranobis conducted an Interactive Session with Graduates at Bhawanipore Education Society College on Positive Psychology, Understanding Human Behaviour For Better Interpretations Of Avoidance Lying And Deceit. At the Bhawanipore Gujarati Education Society, the focus is on Individual Counselling for Social, Emotional and Academic Enhancement. In a short span of time, the students, teachers and parents’ community have become very accepting and responsive of counselling interventions. Most common areas of concern range from handling distractions, study skills, peer teasing and self esteem.

1st and 2nd year students of Loreto College Psychology Department, were sensitized on the significance of Strength Based Counselling Interventions and how it has been able to create a lot of acceptance in the lives of individuals from all walks of life. Ummeed reaches out to enable masses to overcome the myths of counselling and highlight the preventive approach of counselling.
