Ummeed counsellors conducted sessions with classes 1 and 2 students of Frank Anthony Public School on 13th and 15th September 2023.
Students learned the pro social behaviour management techniques with the help of age appropriate activities.
They understand the importance of togetherness and how each one of us is unique, special and important in our classes.
All the students were very participative throughout the session.
On 13th September Mrs.Salony Priya was invited by Galgotia University Noida campus to address the faculty and students of psychology, economics and sociology departments. Resilience as skill for enhancing employability and competence was the core focus of discussion.

Learning Physical Resilience, Emotional Resilience, Psychological Resilience, Community Resilience, Physical Resilience.
Dr Anuradha Prashar Dean of SOLE School of Liberal Education at Galgotia University was very appreciative of the topic and the interaction, she added how resiliency is most critical to being a team worker and leads to better mental health.
Ummeed, led by Founder & Director Ms. Salony Priya, held a session for the students of Oxford High School, Howrah studying in class 7 and 8 on 24th August.
The students were taught about how each one of us are Unique Individuals and how our personalities can develop over time through our Thoughts, Feelings and Actions. Our minds produce ideas which fuel our dreams that motivate us to make a plan to achieve our goals. Ms. Salony empowered the students with the understanding that the ability to make difficult choices enables us to go a long way. Suggestions and resources were also shared with the students to help them with effective strategies for goal-setting and enhancing memory power.
On 24th August Ms. Salony Priya, Founder & Director of Ummeed, conducted a session for the students of class 9 and 10 in Oxford High School, Howrah on ‘Technology and Temptation’. The students were informed about how technology can be used for growth, such as our nation’s recent achievement with Chandraayan 3, and also how temptation and addiction to the internet can hinder personal and professional growth.
Ms. Salony highlighted the skills which are being recruited in today’s time such as transferable skills like Life Skills, 21st Century Skills, Soft Skills, and Socio Emotional Skills.
Mrs. Salony Priya , Founder and Director of Ummeed (Counselling and Consulting Services) conducted a special session on ‘The Art and Science of Parenting’ with the parents of the students from classes 2 to 5 of Birla High School, Kolkata. Ms. Farida, Headmistress Birla High school gave the opening remarks. Parents were sensitized in the various issues faced by children in the modern digital world along with effective remedies. The principle of proactive parenting discussed and parents were empowered to become positive role models for their children.

Founder and Director of Ummeed (Counselling and Consulting Services) Mrs. Salony Priya conducted an awareness session titled ‘Empowering Young Minds’ at Rammohan Mission High School, Kolkata with the students of Class 10 at the school auditorium on 4th of August 2023. The correct approach to make career decisions was explained and the students were made aware of the various opportunities and threats in this rapidly changing digital world. The foundational skills were shared and the importance of SQ and EQ were highlighted with a practical guide.

On 2nd of August 2023, Mrs. Salony Priya, Founder and Director of Ummeed Counselling and Consulting Services conducted a Proactive Parenting Session with the parents of the students of classes 9 and 10 of St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata, held at St. Xavier’s College auditorium.
Parenting explained as a process of mutual growth and defined as an artistic science and a scientific art. The importance of effective communication, principals for proactive parenting and various parenting styles discussed. Parents were guided in the Ummeed way of smart parenting.
FIGHT FEAR WITH FAITH
Umeed Foundation advocates good mental health practices for dealing and coping with life situations. On 1st August Mrs. Salony Priya, trustee Umeed foundation, Provided training and insight to Caregivers and Teachers on mental health awareness at Ek Prayaas Educational Society, in calcutta catering to underprivileged students .
The teachers were guided to manage distraction and low attention span in children , impact of excessive digital addiction in the post covid world, and handling aggressive outbursts, how they need to take care of their own emotional health, using simple relaxation techniques and "assertive self talk " were the highlights of the session, deeply valued by participants.
Salony mam said "In order to support children coming from abusive and neglected backgrounds, it's essential to provide calm , caring and supportive environment as caregivers, that would develop resilient adults.
The session encouraged the teachers to change their perspective towards stress and problems , rather empowered them to handle challenges with grit and faith.
Ummeed held a Parenting session in Delhi World Public School, Barasat on July 31st.
The parenting workshop highlighted the significance of Positive Parenting while dealing with children and adolescents. To effectively engage with the children, special focus was placed on a Firm but not loud approach.

On 31st, two life skills sessions were held in Delhi World Public School, Barasat for children in grades 3 through 8, teaching them how to develop and follow Smart Goals. Ummeed Counsellors taught students study skills such as improving their memorisation and attention while also dealing with distractions. Emotional and social well-being is best improved when they are understood from childhood. Doting on this very idea, the children were also guided about how to deal with their emotions and the social skills which impact them.
